Delhi to Manali

After a delayed but pretty uneventful flight into Delhi we were all struck by the heat (about 30*C) and the humidity but perhaps most by the number of people and sheer noise. After the initial culture shock we all jumped in taxis over to the bus station. Indian driving is certainly interesting to say the least.

The food seems alright so far, but some of us opted for a McDonald's rather than risk a street-stall samosa. We finally got on the coach (which was full of mosquito’s) to Manali at about 6pm and I'm writing now about 6 hours into the 18 hour journey. Thankfully the mosquitos are gone and the air conditioning is working.

With any luck we'll reach Manali in a few hours where we can find a place to stop off before finding another bus to take us further north. But once that's done we're pretty much finished with the travelling and hopefully we'll be too high for the mosquitos as well!
